At Wild Fawn, eco-friendly jewellery is always the obvious choice. But in case you needed a little more persuading, here's 4 reasons to buy sustainable jewellery.

1. Eco-friendly jewellery that lasts a lifetime

We all know the feeling of buying a new ring, sure it looks good but five days later you've got a green finger that reminds you of jewellery you bought when you were 15 that's long been forgotten. At Wild Fawn we don't sell plated jewellery, so you can wear it all day, all night, in the shower, in the sea and it will still look brand new for years to come.

2. Our employees and silversmiths are treated well

You've all seen the line 'designed in London, New York...wherever' as though that's a sustainability statement. Designed in London but 'made' where? Does anyone know? Such a vital piece of information that a lot of brands don't talk about. All Wild Fawn Jewellery is dreamed up, designed and made right here in the UK (all in the very same room, in fact). And it's something we are so proud of. Our employees are paid above the London Living Wage, and treated to recuperation days throughout the year just to simply enjoy some quality time doing what they love best.

3. Our jewellery doesn't cost the earth (in more ways than one)

Let's talk about our queen that is Mother Earth. Let's just say, she's not happy about the fashion industry and how it is having a long-term impact. From the very beginning, Wild Fawn's values have been centred around creating sustainable jewellery, and as the brand has grown this hasn't been compromised. Lots of jewellery brands get their jewellery made in India, then get it transported to the UK - or wherever they're based - in individual plastic bags that are then stored in warehouses for months and then destroyed if they don't sell. Compare that to Wild Fawn, we make everything in our London studio, so it's sent from exactly where it's made which reduces carbon emissions and plastic use. We make to order so there is no waste, and if there is anything that we can't use, we simply melt it down and use it again to make other jewellery. The silver and gold we use is either recycled or from Single Mine Origin, which is so important to our customers.

4. Made for you with love

Because all of our jewellery is handmade in our London studio, we can tell you exactly who made your jewellery (click here to meet Rachel so you can put a face to the name). Rachel uses traditional silversmithing methods and techniques to make each piece of your jewellery. It's a thing of beauty to see how much love and care she puts into each piece. Every time you buy a sustainable, handmade piece of jewellery you know that it's unique to you, arriving on your doorstep already with its own story of care and consideration. How many other jewellery brands can you say that about?
