Have you ever wondered how to how to beat fatigue or stop being groggy in the morning? Movement, no matter how gentle and mindful, can be a great way to tackle feeling tired and could energise your morning routine.

Our founder Emma is a huge proponent of caring for your mind and body equally, she regularly attends yoga classes and finds it essential to keeping her grounded and able to tackle the highs and lows of running a small business.

If you are in need of an energy boost there are three easy ways you can feel energised in the mornings as practised by our favourite yoga instructor, Lydia Buckler from Hwyl Studio in South East London.

Start your day with these three energising poses. Focusing on rotation for detoxification & heart openers for awakening & pranayama breathing technique for calming & centring.

1. Dirga Pranayama

A three part breathing technique that relieves stress & tension. Calming the mind & setting a focus. Take in inhale for a count of three, hold the breath for a count of three then exhale for a count of three.

Repeat at least 5 times or as needed.

2. Supta matsyendrasana or supine twist

Laying on your back open the arms to a T position. Cross the right leg over the left leg like you are sitting on a chair and drop the knees to the left hand side. Hold for 5-7 breaths & repeat the other side.

3. Añjaneyāsana or Low lunges

Pressing into the front heel, connecting the back knee to the Earth & drawing the hips down. Lift your heart & arms to the sky. You can try this interlacing the fingers behind the back to open the chest. Hold for 3-5 breaths & repeat the other side.

We hope you try out these energising tips and feel the same benefits as our founder Emma does.
