These new pieces are Part One of Collection 9. They were designed by Emma and Rebecca during the first UK lockdown, stuck inside looking out at bright blue skies looking forward to the future. Now it’s launching during the third UK lockdown, but we are still optimistic for a release coming soon.
The first piece of this collection was an experiment created using scrap Silver in Rebecca’s home studio and the idea grew from there.
The fluid process of melting metal to make the original pieces is a very satisfying one.
The organic textures and fluid form achieved this way is something the Wild Fawn design team have long been obsessed with, being able to create it and bring it to life make us so happy.
The second half of this collection of pieces was made at Emma’s dinning room table using wax. The wax was made into metal using a process called casting.
The final metal pieces still hold her fingerprints on the surface, we see this as the most wonderful part of making jewellery by hand, the mark of the maker is forever on the piece.
We this these two different technique pair perfectly and create a wonderful collection of organic, freeform pieces which are very close to our hearts.
This collection was born out of teamwork (even when working from home) and the love of making by hand. We hope you love it as much as we do. Let us know what you think below and shop the pieces here.
ps. Part two of collection 9 will be coming soon!
