2022 was one of the most tumultuous years ever for the retail sector and Wild Fawn is no exception to this, our team worked so hard keeping up with the pressure the festive season brings with it. We cannot thank you all enough for all your orders last year, you kept us very busy.

In 2023 our resolution is to be more mindful as a team and ensure our work life balance is healthy and sustainable. We decided to start the year off by taking a screen break to reconnect with each other as a team and with our creative sides too.

Gardening and caring for plants is a great way to de-stress, and it's especially beneficial when you do it together. Each one of us has a special connection to nature weather its Rachel relishing hiking and camping, Rebecca's home which more closely resembles a greenhouse than an apartment, Emma's carefully cultivated bee friendly garden or Jenn always propagating her plants to share cuttings with friends.

This is why we chose to attend a terrarium workshop hosted by Leafage, a company founded on the three P’s: Plants, People, Potential. They put wellbeing ahead of all else in the work they do. Their founder, Kay Suppamas says “Leafage was born from the simplest of desires; to connect, inspire and cultivate a love for the world around us” and we certainly felt inspired.

We began with empty jars and slowly and patiently built up the layers of our new terrariums, there is definitely a metaphor there about life but we will let you mull that yourselves.

Did you know the natural chemicals in soil can stimulate serotonin production, which makes you relaxed and happier? Meaning nature and houseplants can actually improve our productivity by 20% as well as positively impacting creativity levels and memory not to mention the improve your mood.

Breaking up the work day with a chance to get our hands dirty (with soil rather than gold dust) was so valuable and brought us so much joy, we highly recommend it.

If you know of any fun and creative workshops our team should try please let us know!
