Ah, the day of love is upon us once again. So, we thought it would be nice to sit down with some of our favourite couples and get some exclusive goss' about their relationships. First up is our very own Emma (WFJ’s founder) spilling the tea about how she met her partner Jennie. Next up are the globe trotting Megan & Julie (@out_in.nature) who live in the buzzing city of Toronto, and last but not least is our Product & Creative Manager, Rebecca, recalling her first 'anti-date' with her partner, Lewis.

Emma & Jennie

How did you first meet in person, and was it love at first sight?

We met at Southampton Uni and I think the very first time I saw Jennie she was in the middle of a drinking game which involved standing on a chair in our halls, so not exactly love at first sight!

What’s your best date story?

We never went on actual dates before getting together officially because we were basically living together from day one.  I think of our holidays as long dates now, with my favourite being a road trip from San Francisco, down to LA and back through Yosemite Park. Best trip ever.

Do you have a favourite hobby/activity that you like to do together?

Apart from watching American Office over and over? Hmmm. We do like to go on long walks with our dog which ends with a cosy drink in a pub with a real log fire. We also love going to Sainsbury’s really late at night to do a food shop when it’s really empty, it’s so relaxing - is that wierd?

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do together?

We would definitely travel for a while, there are so many places we would love to go. Hopefully Sri Lanka soon! We’d also re-do our kitchen which we’ve been saving for for 4 years but what we want done keeps getting more and more expensive so we keep having to put it off!

What are your zodiac signs, do you think your relationship horoscope compatibilities are true?!

I’ve never looked but just now google said ‘Overall, ‘Virgo and Aquarius make an OK match’. We’ve been together over 10 years so something’s working!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

We love where we live so I don’t imagine we’ll have moved anywhere new unless all of our friends move out of London. I’ll still be here growing Wild Fawn, that’s the main thing!

Megan & Julie: @out_in.nature

How did you first meet in person, and was it love at first sight?

Our first date was for brunch at Julie’s favourite spot in Toronto. We ended up spending the entire day together, walking through the city and talking the whole time. We couldn’t believe how much we had in common, and the time truly flew by!

Do you have a favourite hobby/activity that you like to do together?

We love camping and hiking together, and we have played on the same soccer team together as well. Megan is a goalie, so she’s always a huge asset to the team! Our camping adventures are some of our favourite because we get to escape from our busy work weeks and just unwind and recharge together. Some of our proudest moments are from the challenges we’ve overcome while camping together.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do together?

If we won the lottery, we would absolutely take a trip around the world! We have always wanted to go to SE Asia (Julie has been, but Megan hasn’t) but with restrictions the past few years, we have put it off.

What are your zodiac signs, do you think your relationship horoscope compatibilities are true?!

Neither of us are really well versed in zodiac signs! Haha Julie is a Capricorn, and Megan is a Gemini, maybe you could give us some insight...

Rebecca & Lewis

How did you first meet in person, and was it love at first sight?

After what seemed like centuries of using dating apps I had all but given up. But in early February 2016 I decided to give a guy with cats in every profile photo a chance. We decided to go on an anti-date on Valentine's Day to Greenwich to sneer at all the happy couples. Being quite a tall girl, it was definitely not love at first sight when I saw he had lied about his height, but then I reminded myself I had worn heels so couldn't hold it against him! So I suppose it was love at second sight.

What’s your best date story?

Although not quite a date, the favourite meal we ever shared was the one we had in December 2020 when I proposed. I had designed and hand carved us chunky signet rings as place holder rings and decided a random Tuesday was the day. I couldn't let such a terrible year end without something nice to remember the it by. I made us bangers and mash for dinner and hid the ring in the mash. To this day I'm not sure why but I thought it would be very funny, and it was, although having been submerged in boiling hot mash for several minutes, when he did eventually find the ring, said yes and put it on it burned an imprint onto his finger. A faint scar he still has to this day!

Do you have a favourite hobby/activity that you like to do together?

We have just bought our first home in Greenwich (close to where we had our first day; yes we're sentimental that way!) so walks by the Thames and through Greenwich Park are our current obsession.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do together?

We would elope to a teeny tiny island called Kiribati in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  We came across it while playing the Google maps random location game out of boredom at the start of the first COVID19 lockdown and it just seems like paradise. It would be a dream to see it in real life.

What are your zodiac signs, do you think your relationship horoscope compatibilities are true?!

We are both Leos which could be a disaster but we manage to avoid the drama and possessiveness our Leo egos are prone to. We both share Leo's trait of loyalty and dedication so we make a very solid pairing.

What is your favourite quality about each other?

I love how much he makes me laugh. With not much more than a look he can have me crying laughing and I hope we never lose that. As for him, I can only presume he loves me for my patience, grace, beauty and intelligence but no need to check with him, you can take my word for it...!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Sat on our very comfortable bright yellow couch watching sci-fi with several cats and possibly a toddler or two!
