Taking a trip this summer and wondering what you should consider when travelling with jewellery? We distilled some of our top tips for planning your looks and looking your best on any holiday and created an inspiring edit of some our our favourite summer pieces.
1. Wear solid metal
Whether you wear silver or gold, we recommend always opting for solid metal jewellery rather than plated, vermeil, or filled. The last thing you want to have to worry about when lounging and swimming is your jewellery. At Wild Fawn, we only use solid sterling silver and solid 18ct or 9ct gold. We never plate, so you don't have to worry about the colour fading while you swim.
2. Sunbath with care
Whilst sunbathing, don't forget to apply sun cream, but also take note of what necklaces and other jewellery you’re wearing so you don’t get a tan line where a pendant might be sitting on your chest. You can simply twist the pendant to the back when sitting in the sun and bring it back around when you go to the bar to top up your cocktail.
3. Plan ahead
We would always recommend not taking your whole jewellery collection on holiday. Plan your favourite looks and pack them carefully. If you’re going on a more active, adventurous holiday, it may be best to leave your highly prized heirlooms at home so you don’t risk losing or damaging them. Why not consider treating yourself to some new placeholder jewellery for your trip. Our main collection of our rings work perfectly as ceremonial placeholders.
4. Memorialise your trip
Don’t forget to buy a new piece of jewellery on your trip. At its core, jewellery is about telling stories. Buy something new as a memento for your travels! Wild Fawn jewellery is designed to fit easily with your other favourite pieces so each piece you own will complement any new additions.
If you are planning to add to your jewellery collection ahead of a trip we think we have the perfect pieces for you: solid sterling silver and gold jewellery in our seaside edit, inspired by our favourite getaways and ideal for sun-seekers and nature-lovers alike.
