The Making of Wild Fawn x Mira Lou

To celebrate the upcoming launch of our collaboration with Mira Lou we wanted to share some insight into the time, effort and love that went into designing and making each piece.

The collaboration began with Mira’s distinctive and signature illustrations. She spent hours working up ideas for drawings - mostly drawn to images of nature and the female form.

We actually spent quite some time on brainstorming and I sketched about a hundred ideas. - Mira

With so many ideas there were many experimentations along the way. Choosing a theme for the collection was very difficult.

It’s always kind of magical to see the process from a simple idea and sketch to a finished product. - Mira

Our Creative Manager, Rebecca, really enjoyed creating Mira’s illustration with Silver wire, although it was difficult to reproduce the lines exactly it was a beautiful process bringing Mira’s illustrations to life.

The results we got wouldn’t have been possible if this were a very commercial and mechanical mass production. The quality lies in the open and intimate communication we had and the effort from both sides to make this as authentic as possible. - Mira

After much trial and error we decided the beautiful line and detail in Mira’s illustration were not achievable from bulky wire forms so we decided to experiment with Computer Aided Design which was able to translate the detail into metal the way we wanted.

The final pieces have a delicate form and are finished with care by hand in our London studio. We are very proud of them!
