You probably know this by now, but at Wild Fawn we absolutely love jewellery. We love the way it makes us feel, the way it catches the light, and the way it can bring an outfit together. Ever since we were young, jewellery is something that can bring magic to your day and give you a self-love boost when you need it the most.

We’re serious about it, which is why we don’t only make jewellery for special occasions. We believe jewellery is for every day. For us, it’s an essential. That’s why we make sustainable jewellery that lasts a lifetime.

So, seeing as Mercury’s in retrograde and you shouldn’t make any big decisions right now, we’ve come up with a few small decisions that you definitely should make. Here are our top jewellery essentials, for every day of the week – whether you’re drinking rosé in the sunshine or headed to the gym.

The Mix and Match Stud Set

When Emma started Wild Fawn, this Mix and Match set was one of the first things she made, and it quickly became a best seller. Despite changing collections over the years, this set still remains a firm favourite.

What we love about this set is that it’s super simple, but still really interesting. It’s made up of:

  • A melted pebble stud, made by melting down little bits of silver/gold into a ball...you might have seen the videos.
  • A triangle stud – made by individually cutting tiny triangles from sheets of silver and filing them to have perfect angles
  • A hammered bar stud – made by cutting and hammering tiny rectangles of silver.

The other thing about these simple jewellery essentials is that no two sets are the same. So it’s sustainable, simple, and individual to you.

How to wear this jewellery essential

If you’ve got a few ear piercings, you could wear this simple trio in one ear. Alternatively, you can mix and match on different ears and different days, so you always feel like you’ve got a fresh set of jewels on.

Helix Hoops

If there’s one jewellery essential, we can’t live without, it’s these Helix Hoops. These hoops are  incredibly comfortable. What we love about them is that you can wear them day-in, day-out and not notice they’re there.

You might not know this, but some jewellery brands buy essentials in bulk from third parties, like helix hoops, and sell them as their own. That’s fine, but it’s not for us. Rachel makes each of these hoops individually in our studio – so we know you’re getting the best possible quality. And why shouldn’t you – if you’re wearing them day after day, you want to know they’ll last (Emma’s been wearing hers for about 4 years now and they’re as fresh as they day they were made).

These hoops are mainly made for cartilage, so wear one (or a few) in your upper ear. We also make bigger sizes if you want to wear them further down... you can always ask us what size would be best for you because we genuinely LOVE helping you find the perfect piece. These jewellery essentials go with anything – whether you’re out dancing or headed to yoga.

PS: If you don’t have your helix pierced, we’ve got you covered with a selection of handmade ear cuffs.

Huggie Hoop Earrings

Emma first made these Huggie Hoop Earrings for her girlfriend’s birthday present – she got so many compliments that we knew we had to start selling them – and now they’re one of our jewellery essentials.

These hoops come in both silver and gold – and they’re weighty – they feel expensive. We think of these as a timeless classic that look like you’ve made an effort... when you really haven’t.

What’s also great about these is that they’re unisex – as is a lot of our jewellery. So they make a perfect gift for your boyfriend, brother, or uncle – as well as all the other excellent people in your life.

These hoops are so versatile, you can wear them with absolutely anything. We love them with jeans and a fresh t-shirt...but they also stand out if you’re dressed up for a nice lunch or a job interview. You can keep it simple and just wear one – or make things a bit more interesting and wear a few at a time!

Layering Chains

Ok so we’ve got to hand it to him, Paul Mescal really brought life to the simple chain as a jewellery essential (we see you @connellschain*). And rightly so – chains are popular. And we’ve got lot of them.

For a more delicate look, we’ve got an aptly named Delicate Layering Necklace. If you want something that stands out, we have a  Chunky Figaro Necklace, and if you really want to make a statement, try the Connected Link Choker Necklace.

As with all of our pieces, these chains are 100% sustainable, solid silver and gold – so you can do literally anything with them, and they’ll always shine bright (as will your wonderfully sustainable soul).

How to wear this jewellery essential

In case you hadn’t realised; chains are seriously in right now. What’s so good about them is that they’re like a second skin – you can wear them all the time and they make any outfit POP.

We especially love our chains against sun-drenched skin... you really don’t have to have much on, your chain will do the work. At the moment, the whole team is really into layering chains. Why wear one when you can where a few?

We hope you like our run down of jewellery essentials. If you’ve got a Wild Fawn piece that you don’t go a day without, then tag us on instagram and we’ll  share.
